The Plan
The Plan is the canvas next to your draft, infinite in every direction. Scroll, zoom, pan. Beats, research, character maps, the photo that started the whole idea, all next to the writing instead of in another app. (Older screens may still say Board; same surface.)
The toolbar, top to bottom

Notes
A fresh Note arrives as “Untitled Note” with the familiar “Write, type ‘/’ for commands” and a Choose a starting template list. Manuscript starters include Synopsis, Outline, Character, Setting, and Research; Screenplay has Logline, Synopsis, Treatment, Characters, and Beat Sheet; General has Summary, Outline, Audience, and Research. These are starters for one Note, separate from the whole-project Template library.
Select a Note to show its title and separate controls for full screen, pin, collapse or expand, lock, and more. Pinning makes the Note available beside Draft and Plan in the project’s surface tabs. Note options include Rename, Duplicate, Import, Export as, and Delete. A Note imports Word, Markdown, or PDF and exports PDF, DOCX, Text, or Markdown.
Templates
The Templates tool opens a searchable library you can filter by category and sort by name, newest, or most popular. Preview the Plan and Draft parts, decide whether to keep example content, then choose Use template. A template may add a Plan, a Draft, or both. If its Draft type does not match your project, Skrib skips that part and still adds the compatible Plan.
Selecting and arranging
Click an item to select it, Shift-click to add or remove it from the selection, or drag across empty canvas to select a group. Item controls differ: a Sticky has text formatting, a Folder has direction and color, and a file has viewing and download actions. The More menu on ordinary items includes Copy, Duplicate, layer order, and Delete.
Unlocked free-standing items usually have resize handles. Connectable items show side anchors; drag one to another item to bind them with an arrow. A Folder arranges items vertically or horizontally: drag items onto it, reorder them inside, or drag them back out. Do not delete a Folder unless you mean to delete its contents too.
Files and embeds
The Plan accepts images, PDF, Word, CSV, TSV, Excel, and PowerPoint files. Word files become editable Notes; PDF, spreadsheet, and presentation files keep canvas viewers. PowerPoint asks before converting the file into slides. You can also add any web link or embed a valid YouTube or Spotify URL. Direct audio and video file uploads are not supported.
Reviewing Companion changes
When Companion adds or rearranges Plan items, Skrib marks the group for review. Use Accept all or Reject all on the review toolbar. Moved items show where they came from; if you edit an item before rejecting the move, Skrib keeps your later work. Pending review remains after a reload.
The bottom bar
A census of the item types on the canvas, the minimap toggle, and zoom controls. The minimap shows the visible area; click or drag it to recenter. Minimap visibility, canvas position, and zoom are remembered per project in this browser.
