Skrib

The studio

What's Skrib?

Skrib is a writing studio. One workspace where you can plan a story, write it, and keep the material around it, so the notes and the draft stop living in twelve scattered apps.

A project holds two things: a Draft, where the words go, and a Plan, an open canvas where you arrange ideas, scenes, research, and files. A Companion sits inside and knows your work, a sparring partner you can ask, never a ghostwriter. A Library holds your projects, folders, and reference files. Audit is a planned way to show how the work was written.

Two ways to use it

Skrib comes two ways. With Companion, for writers who want a partner inside the studio for research, planning, and feedback. And Purist, for writers who want zero AI in their workflow. Same studio, same Draft, same Plan, same Library, just no Companion controls or suggestion menus. Purist is a real choice, not a lesser tier. You choose your route during setup and can change plans later.

The names, so we are speaking the same language

Word What it means in Skrib
Project One piece of work. Choose Manuscript, Screenplay, or General; every kind starts with a Draft and a Plan.
Draft The editor where the manuscript lives. Block-based, paginated, exportable. One project can hold many drafts.
Plan The infinite canvas next to the Draft. Some older screens still say Board; it is the same surface.
Note A full editable page on the Plan. A synopsis, a character sheet, research. Opens the same editor as the Draft.
Sticky A small colored card on the Plan. One idea, one beat, one line.
Library The searchable archive of your projects, folders, and reference files.
Companion The optional writing partner in the right rail. It suggests. You decide.
Poster The book-style cover on every project. Pick a style and color, or upload your own.
Pin Promote a supported Plan Note or file to the project’s navigation row, next to Draft and Plan.
Audit A planned process-based approach to human authorship. Not AI detection and not shipped yet.
